YOUTH   GROUPS

Lodge 8 has a long history of supporting Southern Maryland youth groups. In November 2016, the Lodge President decided to assist youth groups. The Lodge will provide an opportunity for the Youth Groups to list information about their groups, their goals and their progress in achieving their goals on our website as part of seeking funding. This page allows them to tell their stories of the friendships made, travel adventures and learning experiences that occurred along their road to success. The Lodge will provide web space to show that information for free.

The Youth Group should select a youth to represent the group and speak at a Lodge meeting. An adult sponsor of the group will need to accompany the Rep to a membership meeting. The sponsor will need to have the support of an Active FOP member and have a Request for Youth Group Funding to submit at the Lodge meeting. The representative would likely work with the sponsor to complete the form. The Youth Group representative is responsible for the oral request for funding presentation at the meeting.  

The activity and event information for the FOP 8 website is to be written by the Youth Group and, when reviewed by the sponsor, emailed in digital form with any digital images to the webmaster. The writing would explain their stories of the friendships made, travel adventures and learning experiences that occurred along their road to success as well as other pertinent information. The information may be written collectively or individually by the Youth Group members. 

When submitting the application to the Lodge,  the Youth Group's Sponsor will be responsible for ensuring no youth is identified by name and documenting the parental consent of any member's image to be displayed on the website and submitting it to the Lodge.
